Food Manager Training 

The My Food Service License Maryland Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) course provides food safety training, exams, and educational materials to foodservice managers. 

The program blends the latest FDA Food Code, food safety research, and years of food sanitation training experience. Managers learn to implement essential food safety practices and create a culture of food safety. All content and materials are based on actual job tasks identified by foodservice industry experts.

The My Food Service License Maryland Certified Food Protection Manager course is self-paced and allows students the ability to start and stop throughout the course.  Hours of video, text, and interactive quizzes and puzzles allow students to learn through various learning styles.

Food Handler Training 

My Food Service License provides online food handler training. Food handler training is optional in most areas of Maryland and this course provides excellent food worker training to teach the important principles of food safety to food handlers. 

Your local regulatory agency may have additional requirements. Please contact your local regulatory agency for more information. 

This training is a general food handler course. If your local health department requires a food handler card, you will need to take that course. Before purchasing this course, click here to see if another course is offered for your jurisdiction. 

This course takes approximately one hour to complete and, upon successful completion, provides a printable food handler certificate. This certificate is good for up to five years.

State Requirements:  Certification is voluntary with exceptions.

Food Protection Manager: Recommended but not required.

Food Handlers: Not required.

ExceptionsBaltimore, Montgomery, & Prince George's Counties require Food Manager certification. Each facility must have one certified employee on staff.

Manager Training Hours: No regulations on training or specific training but recommended.

Food Handler Course: Recommended but not required.

Food Manager Certification and Food Handler Certificate Renewal: Food Manager every 5 years; Food Handler every 5 years.
