A food handler is defined by law as anyone working in a food facility who prepares, stores, or serves food. All staff members should hold a Food Handler's Certification—unless they already possess a valid CFPM certification. Even if you only occasionally fill in as a food handler, food handler training is a must.

The Basic Food Handlers Course is designed for entry-level food professionals, focusing on safe food handling practices and proper hygiene to prevent foodborne illnesses. Throughout the course, you'll learn the essential food safety protocols, understand the causes of foodborne diseases, and explore the importance of personal hygiene and optimal food handling practices.

This short, self-paced online course concludes with a brief quiz to assess your food handling knowledge. Your enrollment fee covers the entire course, the exam, and a state-specific Food Handlers Card. Once you pass the quiz, you can easily print your Food Handlers Card, which remains valid for 3 years.
